The Ugandan UK Convention is delighted to welcome Mr Ian Harris, Regional Director of the Department of Trade and Industry, and Rt. Hon. Baroness Sandy Verma, as esteemed speakers at the Convention on 12 Sept 2015 in London.
Mr Ian Harrison has over 20 years’ experience of dealing with publicly funded business support and has worked in a number of organisations in roles that have provided advice and expertise to businesses. Before joining UKTI, he worked within the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) where he was an Assistant Director for Business Engagement for BIS Local in the East Midlands & South East Midlands.
Mr Harrison has a degree in Economics, a post-graduate qualification in Regional Planning and has attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Entrepreneurship Development programme. Ian is a member of the MSD UK Leadership Group, a Board member of the OPUN Architecture and Design Centre charity for the East Midlands and sits a number of local LEP Growth Hub Boards. Ian holds a number of professional memberships including the Society of Business Economists, the Institute of Directors and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Export.
The Ugandan Convention addresses the essential need-to-know topics most prevalent to Uganda and promotes investment opportunities within the priority sectors of infrastructure development, Power & Energy, Health-care, Agriculture & Agri-business, Real Estate, tourism, and many more, in Uganda and also the East African region.
