We are pleased to welcome Alvan Blanch as our new exhibitor at the 5th the Uganda-UK Trade and Investment Convention 2015. The Ugandan Convention is holding its 5th event in London on the 12th Sept 2015. It has become the only trade and investment forum attracting the largest gathering of Ugandan and East African Diaspora in Europe.
Alvan Blanch is a British manufacturing and project engineering company for predominantly post-harvest agricultural processing. With over 50 years’ experience in Africa, and 80% of products for export, Alvan Blanch applies experience and knowledge to find market-specific solutions for their clients.
Africa has been a key market for Alvan Blanch – For over 50 years, leading to the establishment of a very strong brand name. They have handled hundreds of projects to both private and state sectors – covering the storage of grain and the processing of every type of crop that is grown on the continent. Improvements to farm mechanisation, and in particular to post harvest crop preservation and processing, are central to economic growth throughout Africa.
Alvan Blanch’s main activity in the region relates to designing and supplying complete systems for the processing, drying, cleaning of crops such as cocoa, coffee, rice (parboiled), maize (flour milling), sorghum (malting), groundnuts, sesame, palm kernel (oil expelling), ginger, cassava (into chips, flour or gari), pulses, fruit and tomato (juice, concentrate and paste), sugar, salt & spices.
Feed Milling – for the on-farm and commercial production of mash and pellets for poultry, fish and cattle – is another key line. They also supply a wide range of tractor operated farm machinery.

About the Convention:
One of the main aims of the Convention is to encourage investors to expand their current businesses to the East African region, or to start new ventures between the UK and Uganda in both directions.
The conference will address the essential need to know topics most prevalent to East Africa (Uganda), such as opportunities within the priority sectors; infrastructure development, Power & Energy, Health-care, Agriculture & Agri-business, Real Estate, tourism, increasing intra-regional trade and developing risk mitigation strategies through collaborations and private equity, and VC finance access.
The Forum will also enable investors to talk directly with senior Government officials and business leaders on how to use Uganda as a hub to access an expanding market of nearly 374m consumers in the EAC Common Market and Southern African Development Community (SADC) Market.
I therefore urge you to make every effort to participate in this important event and I look forward to meeting you in London on the day and discover more about our exhibitors.
